1970s Explosive growth

   

The oil crisis led to a long-term economic stagnation that caused huge problems in many parts of the world. Fortunately, Nilfisk managed to come out of the crisis in good shape thanks to explosive growth in new and old markets: the vacuum cleaner was back in high demand again.

 

As environmental-awareness increased, greater interest into the highly efficient Nilfisk filters became more apparent. Sales in the USA started to take off and NASA became a customer of Nilfisk, using its vacuum cleaners to remove harmful dust from the space shuttles.

As higher agricultural hygiene standards were imposed, the demand for grooming nozzles increased. The grooming nozzle remained in the product catalogue until recently but when demand fell to one nozzle a year, it was finally outfaced.
